My book events

I have posted on the side of my blog the dates that I have book events scheduled thus far.  If you would like for me to visit your school or organization, please let me know.  I am excited to visit the schools.  I think it will be a fun experience for me and hopefully for the kiddos, too!

Audio Book

Today was an exciting day.  I got to pick the voice of the person doing my audio book.  There were three voices to choose OR I could do it myself.  I don't have that type of "unique" voice that's rememberable like James Earl Jones,  Charleton Heston,  or the Allstate Man!  So I chose a nice lady voice since I feel the book tends to lead toward the feminine side.  I can't wait to hear the entire story. After that, I think we will start on the TV commercial...Exciting times!

Writer's Dilemma

So things are going well with the book even though it has not been officially released yet.  I have some engagements set up and am spending a great deal of time making contacts and setting up appointments. There is a lot of mental hustle and bustle which doesn't leave any time for writing.  I have many half completed stories, but no free time.  Eventually, I will get back to the my writing passion.  In the meantime, I will have to sit back and enjoy the ride of The Best Baker in the World!

Starting my event calendar!

The pre release was a success and the release date is scheduled for February 14.  Eventhough the book is not officially released, I am beginning to schedule events at independent bookstores and other venues.  I am also booking school presentations so if you are affiliated with a school and would like for me to visit, please let me know! I am beginning to hear reviews from the kiddos who have received copies of my book and am so pleased with the comments! More details later....

Gearing Up!

I've been baking up a storm getting ready for my big event on Sunday.  If no one shows up, my family is going to have to eat a lot of stuff!

If you are coming from the Oklahoma City area or Norman, come on HWY 62 to Blanchard.  When you get to the stoplight, turn right onto 10th Street (by Sonic).  Go straight until you get to the stop sign and turn left.  The library is on the right side next to Dollar General Store.  Hope to see you there!

Official Release Date

I have been given the official release date for my book...Valentines Day!  February 14, 2012 books will be available on Amazon, at Barnes and Noble or from Tate Publishing.  Just to clear up some confusion, I have books available for purchase now.  I receive my books 60-90 days before the release date. I will be at the Blanchard Library next Sunday, Dec. 18 from 2:00-3:30.  There will be books there for purchase as well as a ton of snacks! Hope to see a full house.

They are finally here!

After many months of impatiently waiting, pacing the floor, nail biting, etc. my books have arrived!  Everyone at Tate Publishing did an excellent job turning my story into a storybook!  I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist, and I'm sure I was a little more difficult to work with than the average author.  At any rate, we all survived and the finished product is really cute!  Everyone is invited to my first book event scheduled for December 18th from 2pm-3:30 at the Blanchard Library.  This is a celebration and a book signing all in one. There will be refreshments served (not made by the best baker in the world, only by me).  Even if you are not in the market for a children's book, please stop by and say hello.  I am hoping to have as many people show up as can fit into the building! I have been truly amazed and humbled at the response and support I have already received from friends, family, coworkers, etc.  This has been such a blessing and an wonderful journey so far.  I can't wait to see what the future holds!

It's all so surreal. It's hard to believe it actually going to happen.  My first public event is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 at the Blanchard Public Library from 2-3:30 pm.  This will be a celebration of the completion of my book.  We will have refreshments and books available for those who wish to purchase them.  In any event, please just come and rejoice with me and my family.
