There was the loss of loved ones that tears at the heart and mind. There was a kitchen renovation that's still in the works. And, there was the struggle to come up with new writing ideas, to want to write anything at all, or even just to carve out a time of day to finish up existing projects.
As summer activities wind down and the beginning of school is just around the corner, I'm looking forward to getting back to some sense of normalcy. And so I say, "Out with summer!" I'm ready to jump into new characters and plots. Ready to write a new novel. Ready to visit schools. Ready to tackle the world! Watch out. Here I come!
